Common Questions
Braces and Inbrace require you to avoid many crunchy, sticky, and/or hard foods. A complete list of foods will be provided to you at the start of treatment.
Invisalign does not have any diet restrictions, but does require you to brush your teeth after each meal.
Braces themselves won’t hurt you when they are first placed on your teeth, but placing the wires on the braces and tightening them can cause soreness for up to a week afterwards.
Invisalign can leave your teeth and gums slightly sore after you switch aligner trays or when you first begin treatment.
Inbrace is typically the least painful braces option, causing some soreness and discomfort at first, but thanks to the GentleForceTM technology, largely avoiding pain for the rest of treatment.
If you’re coming into Signature for Braces, Invisalign or Inbrace, your first appointment is a completely free consultation. At the consultation, you or your child will have a free 3D smile scan, receive a custom diagnosis and treatment plan, and get all the financial information you need to make a well informed decision.
Pediatric Dentistry A child’s first visit to the dentist is to help him/her feel comfortable. Expect your first visit to last 30 to 45 minutes. The first visit will include a comprehensive exam of the teeth, jaws, bite, gums, and oral tissues to check growth and development. Your child may also have a gentle oral cleaning. Because baby teeth fall out, X-rays aren’t often part of your first visit.
One in three orthodontic patients is an adult. The biggest difference between adult and child/teen treatment is that adult mouths are no longer developing, which can make moving teeth slightly more difficult. If you’re worried about aesthetics, there are several ways to get the smile of your dreams today without feeling like a teenager again! While some people may question whether braces are really necessary, “sliding by” with crooked teeth or a misaligned bite may cause more serious issues down the road that can require extremely expensive surgeries, root canals, implants, or veneers.
